Chiropractic Neurology is brain-based chiropractic, combining the best of neurological science and traditional chiropractic to address the fact that chiropractic adjustments of the spine affect the function of the nervous system.
The brain is in constant change as a consequence of our life experience, our physical activity, and our environment. Many of us develop one part of our brain more than other parts (hence the categorization of “right-brained” and “left-brained” people). When lesser-developed parts of the brain slow the processing of neurological signals, brain asymmetry can develop, which can decrease our potential and lead to dysfunction and sometimes disease. Chiropractic Functional Neurology can facilitate neurological healing through healing the relationship of the body’s structure to the brain and nervous system.

Chiropractic care is a natural method of health care that focuses on correcting the causes of physical ailments rather than just treating the symptoms. Chiropractic is based on a simple yet powerful premise: with a normally functioning spine and healthy nervous system, the body is better able to heal itself. The spine is the lifeline of the nervous system. It controls feeling, movement, and function throughout the body.
Chiropractic works by restoring the body’s inborn ability to be healthy. When under proper control of the nervous system, all of the cells, tissues, and organs of the body are designed to resist disease and ill health. The chiropractic approach to wellness is to locate and remove interferences (misaligned vertebrae, called subluxations) to your nervous system. With improved spinal function, there is improved nervous system function. Our goal as chiropractors at White Heron Wellness is to remove interference that may be impairing normal health through specific chiropractic adjustments, thereby allowing your body to heal itself. A healthy spine and a healthy lifestyle are the keys to optimal health.

Improper movement patterns are very often the cause and/or perpetuators of musculoskeletal pain or discomfort. Using a system of evaluating fundamental movements upon which all other movements of work and sport are based, we are able to assess the movement pattern portion of a patient’s overall complaint. Through this method, we are also able to assess risk of future injury. Following these assessments, corrective exercise prescriptions are tailor-made to each patient’s movement situation.

Sports massage enables professional and everyday athletes to attain their highest potential by enhancing their performance ability, reducing incidence of injury, and providing overall wellbeing. In cases where injury or strain has occurred, massage helps to restore mobility and flexibility to injured muscle tissue while reducing recovery time. Along with compression and deep tissue techniques, sports massage utilizes stretching and range of motion to help prevent injury and increase flexibility.
Bamboo-fusion, developed by Nathalie Cecilia, is being used by spa and therapy centers all over the world. Sustainable bamboo in varying lengths and sizes are warmed and applied with therapeutic tropical oils in soothing, rhythmic stokes. Due to the heat and the flowing rhythm, this massage is quite deep and therapeutic, while also being very relaxing. Tight fascia, or connective tissue, is the cause of many strains and problems in the body, and the bamboo spreads these fascial restrictions and releases muscle tension. You will experience a lengthened and rejuvenated feeling after your bamboo-fusion session. This treatment can be wonderful for the large, muscular athlete (marathoners, tennis players, and weight lifters are reporting amazing relief) or the petite senior, as it caters to your personal needs.
Traditional Thai Massage
The practice of Thai massage can be traced back to Thailand more that 2,500 years ago. It is performed on a mat on the floor with the client wearing light, loosely fitted clothing. A Thai proverb states: “You start aging when you start losing your flexibility in your body and mind”. This type of massage opens up the body, leaving you felling de-stressed and more flexible. Thai massage uses gentle rocking, deep stretching, and rhythmic compression along pressure points and energy lines on the body to create a healing experience. This therapy is slow, gentle, non-invasive, and suitable for all body types and ages. You’ll leave feeling stretched, relaxed and energized.
Swedish Massage Therapy
Swedish massage is the backbone of all Western massage therapies. A variety of massage strokes are used to flush toxins from the muscles, increase venous blood flow back to the heart, increase circulation, open up tight tissues, and create a great sense of well-being. Swedish massage is very relaxing and therapeutic, and is perfect if you’re looking for muscular release without the depth and intensity of Sports Massage. Our therapists will cater to your personal needs and create a soothing, stress-relieving session so that you leave the White Heron feeling like a new you.
Reflexology, sometimes called zone therapy, is the method of applying pressure to the feet, the hands, and the ears in order to affect positive change in the health of various areas and organs of the body. In theory, reflexology may break up patterns of stress in other areas of the body through the thousands of nerves in the feet, hands, and ears. Many people find reflexology beneficial for relieving stress, improving circulation, and promoting homeostasis, or balance, in the body.

Far Infrared Sauna
Far infrared light rays are one of the many types of rays emitted by the sun. They are the sun’s healthiest rays, and penetrate your skin deeply to dissolve harmful substances accumulated in the body, revitalizing your cells and metabolism.
When far infrared waves penetrate the cells, they activate the sweat glands and become allied to water molecules (which comprise 70% of our bodies). When this happens, the water molecules begin to vibrate. This vibration reduces the ion bonds and eventually breaks down the water molecules, causing encapsulated gases and other toxins to be released through the process of sweating. Far infrared heat provides all the benefits of natural sunlight with none of the dangerous side effects of solar radiation.
Infrared heat is very safe and not at all like the heat produced by other saunas or microwaves. In a far infrared sauna, only 20 percent of the energy is used to heat the air. Therefore, the air doesn’t feel hot and dried out like a typical dry sauna. The temperature inside an Infrared sauna is adjustable and can be made comfortable for each client. A typical session lasts 20 to 45 minutes and can be repeated, even on the same day, for maximizing benefits. Infrared sauna treatments leave you feeling invigorated and energized, not exhausted like other saunas. We also provide reverse osmosis pure water and detoxifying herbal teas to hydrate you throughout your far infrared sauna treatment.
Everyone can benefit from treatments in the far infrared sauna. An infrared sauna treatment before massage therapy is an excellent combination! Dr. Bidabadi recommends the sauna for a variety of benefits and conditions, including:
- Weight Loss
- Pain Relief
- Increased Blood Circulation
- Anti-Aging Benefits
- Immune System Boost
- Skin purification
- Joint Pain Relief
- Stress Relief
